This SS12 film from Stylebop.com is a visionary treat! If there’s one way to showcase a collection, this is it. Created by Parisian Director Thomas Tyman, Through The Looking Glass: A Fashion Fantasy in Motion is so beautiful… The graphic film walks us through a dreamy world of pastel perfection. True Spirit

Esprit’s Natural Spirit campaign is a true favourite this season. Not least because Gisele Bündchen looks beyond gorgeous, with little effort, but also because we NEED this wardrobe!! The ‘less is more’ look is a look we truly LOVE. And with style direction from Camille Bidault-Waddington and visuals by David Sims, we can see why this collection works so well.
Gisele Fact: Gisele is a twin, like us, AND we all share the same birthday!

Hey! Wanna see a fashion show? Watch our favourite AW12/13 collections right here…
PARIS
CHANEL: A surprising collection after such a pretty spring summer show – This season, Chanel has attitude. The signature tweed is still there in flickers, but there are heavier fabrics in what we’re calling ‘vintage brights’ – Slightly faded purple and raspberry. There are moss green leggings in velvet, a silk chiffon blouse in asparagus green, and grey; lots of grey structured garments, mirroring precious gemstones. Key accessories include twisted, rolled scarves and long fingerless gloves.
ISABEL MARANT: Rodeo styling, with trademark tassels. We absolutely want one of those shirts! Trousers are cropped (ankles are key!) Skirts are ruffle trimmed. Colours are quite muddy with orange and cream to lift. A sort of downtown, girly cool.
LANVIN: A sea of black… and then metallic brocade coats and jewel-coloured fur stoles! We love the peplums and the sheer opulence of Lanvin. Princess Diana would have loved this collection.
CARVEN: A muted seventies palette of wet sand, a heavy red, a peachy shell shade and rich navy. Prints are, again, quite retro with the odd stripe. (Love stripes!) Cutwork is key, skirts are to the knee, and there are plenty of chic shapes to enhance the waist.
BALMAIN: Tight, carf-length skirts (to make us walk with a wiggle!) The ever-present sharp shoulder is still at Balmain, as are the bejewelled fabrics. Generally a monochrome palette with cream to soften; A cream suit sparkles like droplets of rain in the sunshine. Your key accessory is a gold belt.
MILAN
DOLCE & GABBANA: Very rich and lavish. Sheer black is adorned with gold galore! There are some truly beautiful silhouettes in this collection; a mini cape, bell sleeves, ruffles, square-neck body-con dresses… And white lace… How do they make it look so exquisite?
BLUMARINE: Snow white and skin-tight under bright fur jackets matched with slouchy fur bags – Fur so big it swishes! Metallic high top trainers and fingerless driving gloves filter through. Then, BAM! Lots of shiny metallic in biker jackets, hot pants, skinny trousers, head-to-toe! Some animal print is let loose… Then, all too suddenly, it’s like Miss World; long flowing dresses, pretty and princessy. Sport luxe doesn’t get more luxury than this.
LONDON
MARY KATRANTZOU: The most inventive collection of indescribable prints in masterpiece structures. There is a vintage typewriter, bows, flowers, a basket-weave, curtain tassels, a watch face, a maze, teapots, pearls… It’s like Alice-in Wonderland meets Jeff Koons, meets Queen Victoria – All in colours you’d find in your garden.
ROKSANDA ILINCIC: Minimalist dressing in cocoon-esque shapes, in burgundy and neutrals. Through the tailoring, a sporty feel eases through… There is cuffing (in the sweatshirt sense) puffing (in the puffa sense) and we spot a duffel bag. Shoes are bright, yet subtle in pink and yellow.
NEW YORK
VICTORIA BECKHAM: Body conscious, carf-length and powerful are the key elements to this collection. A military salute to the trimmings; gold buttons, double-wrapped belts, biker boots and the structured beanie hat. This girl’s girl is really a tomboy.
PREEN: Horticultural prints in muted hues are brought to life with cream and a sort of papaya shade. Then, the softest green emerges and a ‘light’ navy. Quite a vintage palette really…There are glimpses of a shimmery, transparent fabric, like the wings of a butterfly; delicate against the interesting asymmetric panelling and the odd raglan sleeve.
NOTES: Colours are muted with monochrome and metallics. Get a gold belt and some metallic high tops. Wear skirts to the calf. Invest in a peplum.
Can Moss Make Millions For Mango?

So Kate Moss is Mango‘s new muse for SS12.
An interesting choice we think. Past models have included Penélope Cruz and her sultry sister, Mónica; Milla Jovovich, Eva Herzigova, Scarlett Johansson, Isabeli Fontana… And now Kate Moss. How very British for a brand with such Continental spirit. Could it be the impending London 2012 Olympic Games has drawn Mango to our very own London model? Could Mango be onto a winner? After all, Kate sells. Remember the Vivienne Westwood pirate boots? The £2.99 Superdrug bag? Alexander McQueen’s skull scarf?
We’ve always loved Mango for its Mediterranean fashion at glorious prices. Now they’ve enlisted Kate to launch their SS12, slightly sixties, urban collection, we’re still intrigued. Have a peek at the TV commercial, entitled Spy Game, shot by Terry Richardson, to be screened in March. We’re sold. Are you?

Read My Lips

We came across this cool clip of lipstick-loving, tongue twisting models on Motilo.com – the new fashion-focused social network everyone’s talking about! The Lips Of Babel concept was created by ex-model, artist and linguist, Elle Muliarchyk, who speaks 5 languages herself. We’d have loved sub-titles but hey, look at the amazing array of lipstick shades used (thanks to make-up artist, Cynthia Rose) …Just what we need to make us smile on a cold winter’s day. Mwah!
And here’s a little tongue twister of our own:
“Slick a little red lipstick. Stick to this little trick for slick lips.“
